Our Story

Hazy Reef emerged from a simple observation: travellers increasingly seek meaningful connections with nature, yet struggle to find accommodations that genuinely prioritise environmental stewardship over marketing claims.

Founded in 2018 by a collective of marine biologists, environmental scientists, and tourism professionals, we set out to build a curated network of eco-lodges, retreats, and tour operators who demonstrate measurable commitment to conservation.

Today, we partner with over forty properties across Australia, each vetted for their environmental practices, community engagement, and contribution to habitat preservation. Our role extends beyond booking facilitation—we actively consult with partners on sustainability improvements and channel a portion of every reservation toward conservation initiatives.
